Tom Wood, M.B.A, CFRE
Senior Development Consultant
Tom joins our firm bringing over 30 years of development leadership experience with faith-based non-profit organizations. Shortly after graduating from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Tom was hired by their stewardship department to work on their first billion-dollar campaign. He was later hired by In Touch Ministries with Dr. Charles Stanley where he spent the next decade building and directing a large development office for this international broadcast ministry, doubling their annual donations to over $60 million a year. Tom was later recruited to serve as the Director of Advancement at Whitefield Academy, a new private Christian school in Atlanta. Over the next 15-years, Tom led the school through multiple successful capital campaigns which resulted in doubling the size of the campus to 100 contiguous acres, adding almost $40 million in new facilities, and establishing an endowment.
Prior to joining DickersonBakker in April 2021, Tom served in both a consulting and an interim-leadership capacity to a variety of nonprofits from private schools to churches to foster care agencies and public health organizations (& everything in between!)
Tom received his MBA in Entrepreneurship from Kennesaw State University and has held the professional CFRE certification since 2012. Tom’s passion is to help organizations approach their fundraising just as Christ-centered as their stated mission. Tom married his high school sweetheart, Sherry, who teaches at a public elementary school with children on the autism spectrum. Tom and Sherry have two adult children and a grand dog named Millie.
