We are pleased to announce the exciting opportunity to fill a key leadership role in the growth and on-going impact of Gracewood, an organization committed to helping single mothers and their children rise above poverty. Gracewood is seeking a Director of Development to help grow its major donor funding base by focusing on the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of a portfolio of major donors and prospects. This position will collaborate closely with the president and board of directors who are highly engaged with current donors and a growing network of prospects.
Although this position functions in a small locally-based development office with oversight of one development associate, they serve as part of a broader development team that is disbursed across all the ministries of Children at Heart Ministries (CAHM). This position reports directly to the VP of Mission Advancement located in Austin, TX at the CAHM headquarters. In many ways, this position experiences the best of two worlds, the intimacy of the local team passionate about the programs and services of Gracewood and the camaraderie of a robust development team mutually empowered to contribute to the overall success of CAHM.
Mothers come to Gracewood from all walks of life, but they all have one thing in common: they are single women who love their children and are ready to do whatever it takes to make a better life for their families. Gracewood offers a home-like environment where family well-being is restored while moms work toward specific, individual goals. The driving passion of volunteers and staff who serve at Gracewood is to honor God and build a better world by serving children, strengthening families, and nurturing both physical and spiritual transformation. The successful candidate must be committed to a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ; a faithful biblical lifestyle; and CAHM’s mission, vision, and core values.
Gracewood’s campus is in the Spring Branch area of Northwest Houston. Gracewood can serve up to 18 single mothers and their children. Plans include an expansion that will allow Gracewood to serve the rapidly growing number of single-mother households.
